Introductory Questions about me, Charlotte!
- My name is Charlotte Newhouse, I'm a ComDes major and HCI minor, and I'm a sophomore
- I am a graphic designer who wants to learn more about web design from the backend. I am interested in becoming a UI UX designer and figured this class would give me some good insight on whether I want to pursue that.
- I do not have any experience with HTML, CSS, or JS. I am starting from scratch.
- In this class, I hope to learn how to design a website (from a creative/artistic perspective!)
- Designing from a screen is different than paper because you cant just do what you want to do. You must write the instructions to do it and then the instruction that youve provided allows the computer to do it for you.
- A website that has effective design: https://tantillo-fluid-demo.squarespace.com/. I like the style, boldness and simplicity of it.
- A website that has effective communication: https://www.sparknotes.com/. Sparknotes is a simple, easy-to-use website which uses different aspects to separate and make tasks easily accessible and legible. These include a main search bar, various tabs and subtabs, and the ability to click on almost anything on the site to bring you to a new tab.
- A website that I think works well: https://www.lapecorabianca.com/. In addition to a fun style, it perfectly captures the essence of the restaurant (Ive been there and can confirm). Its trendy, cool, and tells you everything you need to know about the place in an easily accessible way.
